Three markets carry the region — Peregian, Eumundi and Noosa — and between them they cover every Sunday and two mid-weeks of the month. Time it right and you can build a whole holiday's food around them.
Peregian Beach Community Markets
1st and 3rd Sunday of every month · Village Green · 7 am – 12 pm
The village market — plants, jam, bread, small ceramics, kids' drawings, and about forty stalls that come back month after month. Start with coffee at Outer Square, walk around twice, buy something you didn't know you needed, and be home for lunch on the terrace.
Eumundi Markets
Wednesday 8 am – 1:30 pm · Saturday 7 am – 2 pm · Memorial Drive, Eumundi
The Sunshine Coast's original hinterland market — over 600 stalls under fig trees, live music, breakfast that becomes lunch. Saturday is bigger and busier; Wednesday is calmer, easier with a stroller, and lets you actually see the makers.
Twenty-five minutes by car from Villa Villa Coola. The drive itself, through Yandina and Eumundi hills, is worth the outing.
Noosa Farmers Market
Every Sunday · 6 am – 12 pm · Noosaville AFL Grounds
A proper farmers market — produce, fish, cheese, sourdough, honey, flowers. Get there before 8 for the best of everything. The breakfast stalls make it worth the drive without buying anything at all.
A market weekend, planned
- Saturday morning — Eumundi. Coffee at the market, browse for two hours, drive back through Doonan.
- Saturday afternoon — beach. Nap. See the beach guide.
- Sunday morning — Peregian village markets, or Noosa Farmers if you want a bigger produce run.
- Sunday lunch — cook what you found. Villa Villa Coola's kitchen is built for it.
Half of what makes a place a place is the excuse to leave the house on a Sunday morning.
What to bring
- A tote bag or two — plastic bags are rare and rightly so.
- Small notes — many stalls prefer cash, though EFTPOS is more common than it was.
- A hat. Even the tree cover doesn't quite cut a Queensland sun.
