What to pack
Essentials
- High-SPF sunscreen, reef-safe if you can. The Queensland sun is stronger than you expect.
- Sun hats — one each, adults and children.
- Sunglasses.
- Swimwear — bring two sets each, especially with children.
- Rash tops or long-sleeved swim shirts for the middle of the day.
- Reef sandals or thongs, and one pair of walking shoes for the National Park.
Layers
- One warm layer for cooler evenings — even in summer, the rooftop after 9 pm can turn cool.
- A light rain layer for the shoulder-season afternoon showers.
- One dinner outfit if you're planning a night at Sum Yung Guys or Season Noosa.
Beach kit
- A drybag for phones and keys.
- Goggles if the children like them.
- A book. You'll read more than you expect.
For families
- Any specialist child gear (baby carrier, favourite bottle) — the house has the basics.
- A few favourite snacks for the first evening.
- A quiet game for the drive home.
For dogs
See the dog-friendly guide. Bring a spare towel and your dog's usual bed.
Pack lighter. Buy the coffee bag at Outer Square. Wear the same shorts three days running. Nobody minds.
Groceries and first-night shopping
The IGA on the village green is small but well-stocked — bread, milk, wine, olive oil, decent produce. For a bigger shop, the Coles at Coolum is 12 minutes south. Most guests do a light shop on arrival and buy fresh at the markets.
